The long waited rain

The weather has been really nasty recently, not because of too much rains but because of the unbearable heat! My room is normally cooler during night time but the weather turned my room into a sauna room whereby my room retained those heats from afternoon and making it warmer at night.

After so many days, finally it rained in this afternoon :) Thanks god, I can finally feel the cold air circulating inside my room right now. Well, I hope it rains again on tomorrow, anytime throughout the day but definitely not on 6 p.m as I have to walk from my office to the nearest train station.

While boarding the bus on the way home this evening, I captured this shot below when seeing raindrops dripping down on the window surface.

Earth Hour 2011

It's just a rare sight for me to update my blog at such hour. I reckon it's time for me to get some sleep, but somehow, deep inside my mind, I'm insisting to update my blog first before I heading for bedlams. And that explained why I'm still wide awake here updating this post at 3:30 am. Crazy ayeeee! ( I know... )

Together with friends, I celebrated my first ever earth hour by spending the entire hour chatting with friends in the  darkness lit by couple of candles. It was bearable at first half hour, but some people started to make complaints about the heat brought by candles which caused them starting to sweat. However, we all still managed to struggle through the entire hour without utilizing any utilities.

In addition to that, Saturday is "No Plastic Day" here in my city, which means we either have to bring our own bag or purchase plastic bags from the store by paying extra money for it. The good thing about this campaign is to promote the general knowledge of environmentalism to the public, and encouraging public to go as much green as they can. And of course, we never use a single plastic bag during our groceries shopping today.

I definitely feel the greens growing inside my soul right now :)

Lesson of the day

If someone never react or voice up throughout the process, it doesn't mean that they don't care about the whole situation. They might be observing, collecting information, and by the time they take action, you will be surprised, Oh wait, surprises isn't really the big thing here, but you are very likely to drop your jaw after you see it or listen it by yourself.

"Pie in the sky" It's impossible to get a real pie from the sky itself, unless someone is hanging a pie from a higher platform, and causing someone to think that the pie is actually a reward from the sky for them. If you ever had a chance to get something free without incurring costs, that's merely a co-incidence. If same thing happened for the second time, someone probably have the luck for it. If the same thing happened for a few more times, that person probably got hold of the trick out there in getting "pie" from the "sky". But good thing doesn't really ended up in good way, at the end of the day, you will get to see the real costs. The real cost is always far expensive than the original cost. There's a saying, it's only illegal if you get caught, and so,someone should know the game well beforehand, and in case you gonna play it, play it in a smart way.

Before you ever point your finger to someone else, please do take some time to look at yourself. Often we just simply accusing someone for misbehave, but after you calmed yourself down and take some time to think about it, you will find the same mistake in yourself too. I'm not saying this is happening to everyone, but most of us do have the same problem. We should be grateful that someone would actually tolerate us before they start to make some noises about things that they can't tolerate anymore.

I really have learned a lot of things today. When I mean a lot, it really means a lot .....

Sometimes you just don't get to see the real thing, so, please beware of those mask-rider out there.

When I'm bored

Procrastinating because someone wish to give themselves some time for a quick break, but over procrastinate means slacking off entirely, and of course not to mention about productivity and efficiency, as there are none of it existed when someone is on the streak of procrastinating.

Okay, enough bullshit up there, I'm basically bored to the max as I'm not working today, um, yesterday too. Since it's written down in the medical certificate that I deserved to rest for two days, then being a good patient, I'm just following what have been instructed by my panel doctor and this overall progress is just boring. Besides surfing on the net, I don't know what should I do in the afternoon given the weather out there is still scorching hot , ah probably it will be raining afterwards, the weather has gone pretty unpredictable nowadays.

To stop myself from wandering and surfing aimlessly on the net, I found something on my bookshelf and guess what, it's a story book that I have never start reading before! It's actually a series with three story books, I have finished reading the first two and bought the third in last year but never have time to read it until I stored it inside my bookshelf.

Alright, guess I will start reading my story book later and probably some afternoon nap!

Singapore Trip, Day 1

Here comes the delayed update of my recent trip to Singapore on last week. Sorry for the delay!

Arrived at Low Cost Carriers Terminal (LCCT) around 0900.

Self-checked in at kiosk for boarding pass and then procced to counter for luggage check in.

Flight AK705 took off on time and we all arrived at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 1 after 50 minutes which is 10 minutes ahead of scheduled time.

Water vapor !
First thing to do after immigration clearance at airport.

Looking up for luggage claim carousel !
After collecting my luggage, I then proceed to Terminal 2 for the train service connecting to Singapore Town Area, which they called it SMRT. The train fare is reasonably priced despite sometimes it makes you wonder why is it more expensive to travel in a shorter distance than a longer distance. But overall, this is not a major problem that would makes us worry about.

Finally arrived at my accomodation, The Hive Backpackers' Hostel after 40 minutes travelling on train and 550m of walking distance from train station to hostel.

My backpackers' hostel in very unique outlook.

Twin room with double bed.
Accomodation at The Hive comes with free wiresless internet, free self-service breakfast, the best thing is, room is equipped with air-conditioner. We booked for a twin room with double bed prior to our arrival with rates of $S50 per room per night. I reckon this is quite a bargain actually, and of course not to compare with per bed per night in dorm room :)

After settle down with our luggages, we then did some research on "how to get to marina bay resorts" by public transport as we didn't managed to get a map from airport before but luckily the cleaner at The Hive is helpful enough to pass us two copies of Singapore Map after searching the drawer at reception counter.

First of all, we have to get something to fill up our stomach before our journey to Marina Bay Resorts, and been having an urge to try their beancurd at Rochor's, we then headed to Novena MRT station and followed by some walks before we managed to locate their store.

Here it is, Rochor's Beancurd !
Rochor Beancurd House
We ordered quite a lot of things there but at the end, we still managed to stuff them all inside our stomach, sorry for the word "stuff" but we were really full at that time, and have to force ourselves to eat those remaining food!

You might be wondering what'd we had for lunch and high tea for that day, and so here it is
Tau Huey from Rochor's ! Smooth, very very smooth !
Portugese Eggtart are sold here !

Other food that we ordered ...
While on our way back to MRT Station, we then spotted Phua Chu Kang on the pedestrians' path !
Ohh, that signature yellow boots.

Hopped off at Marina Bay station and then proceed to Marina Bay Resorts by foot, unfortunately it was raining right after we arrived at station entrance. With not much choice left, we decided to share an umbrella and walked a long journey to Marina Bay Resorts.

Singapore, first trip in 2011

In less than 12 hours time, I will be eating hainanese chicken rice in Singapore, if there's no delay for my flight in the morning later at 10 am plus. *fingers crosses*

Just done with my last minute packing a while ago, and still on going with my last minute research for yummy food around Singapore and some popular attractions, well, that probably includes Resorts World Sentosa and Marina Sands heheh. Damn, the entrance fee for Universal Studio Singapore is slightly expensive compared to my budget allocated for it, but hey, at least I have to be there and experience it for once right ! Damn right ... So, without being there in Singapore yet, I have already spent 62 SGD for USS admission ticket :)

Here are some of my equipment for my upcoming Singapore trip commencing on tomorrow !

Alright, gonna have a shower soon and then time for bedlams. Gonna wake up really early in the morning later !

Anyone up for Gelato now ?

As usual, I always have a sweet tooth, even I got bloated after eating my full meal, amazingly I still have some space for desserts in my stomach. Okay, some people should probably stop telling me that I'll get diabetes in no time if I continue to consume desserts in this way :) But hey, it's only once in a blue moon that I will end up eating desserts impulsively.

After tired with our wandering around Suria KLCC, we were pretty much exhausted after window-shopping for few hours in the shopping mall. There was this dessert stall at the corner named Gelato Fruity and being almost knocked out by our sore feet, we decided to get ourselves some gelato while trying to get some rest for our feet.

And so, there were a lot of varieties there for us to choose, but those with weird or sharp colors turned me off, not only by their weird name but, the color itself does freaked me out on it own.

At the end of the day, we ordered Chocolate Italy and Rum with Raisins. Ah, forgot to mention here that the shop also offers testing for those flavors that you wish to try before you further continue to purchase :)
